The right nightwear fabric depends on your climate, skin and season more than anything else. Here is a quick breakdown.
Cotton
Breathable, absorbent and easy to wash — the safest choice for hot, humid nights and sensitive skin. It can wrinkle and feels less "smooth," but for everyday comfort it is hard to beat.
Satin
Smooth and lightweight with a slight sheen, satin feels luxurious against the skin and drapes beautifully. It is less breathable than cotton, so it suits air-conditioned rooms or cooler winter nights better than peak summer.
Modal
A soft, semi-synthetic fabric made from beech tree fibres, modal is breathable like cotton but with a smoother, silkier hand-feel and better stretch recovery — a good middle ground if you want comfort with a bit more drape.
